The City of Bellingham is in the early stages of planning a 29-acre neighborhood along East Bakerview Road, between Deemer Road and James Street. This future park will serve the King Mountain and Meridian neighborhoods — home to nearly 8,000 residents who currently don’t have a nearby park within walking distance.

The vision is to create a space that blends:

  • Natural areas and stream restoration
  • Playgrounds, courts, and open fields
  • Walking paths and trails
  • Gathering spaces for all ages and abilities
But before the plan is finalized, the City is asking the community to help shape what this park will look like. Your ideas will guide what features and activities should be prioritized, ensuring the park reflects the needs and character of the surrounding neighborhoods.

How you can get involved:

  • Take the online survey
  • Join a self-guided tour of the site

This is a chance to help design a park that will become a cornerstone of the community for decades to come.
